About the Service Book a Session Become a Tutor Frequently Asked Questions 

Current UF undergraduates, graduates, and professional students with the desire to teach and tutor others are encouraged to become a UF Community Tutor. Acting as an independent contractor, and not an employee of UF, tutors are able to set their own hours, subjects of expertise and hourly rates. Those students looking for experience in tutoring are able to volunteer their time with the community.

Required Sign-Up Steps to become a UF Community Tutor:

  1. Fill out basic profile information via Tutor Matching Service
  2. Enroll & complete Tutor Training Basics (Online Modules)
  3. Submit personal social security information for a criminal background check.

Once all steps have been submitted and completed by the tutor applicant all information will be reviewed by the Dean of Students Office, including a conduct record check and enrollment verification. Once all steps and reviews have taken place tutor applicants will then be placed into the University of Florida marketplace. Each semester the Dean of Students Office will review conduct records and enrollment statuses. All students who meet qualifications will be placed into the marketplace.
